A Large and Varied Industrial Facility

The client operates a large industrial site incorporating a wide range of working environments, including offices, workshops, stores, paint facilities, testing areas and dispatch operations.

With fire extinguishers distributed throughout numerous operational areas, the site requires an organised programme of inspection and servicing to ensure equipment remains appropriately maintained and available where required.

205 Extinguishers Due for Servicing

A total of 205 fire extinguishers were due for servicing across the site, covering several extinguisher types and a large number of individual locations.

In addition to the scheduled servicing, replacement equipment was required. A number of extinguishers held within the stores spares area had previously been used and needed replacing with serviceable units.

The scale and variety of the premises meant the work needed to be completed systematically while covering offices, workshops, production areas, storage facilities and specialist operational areas.

A Systematic Site-Wide Servicing Programme

A Fire Services Central engineer worked methodically through the premises, servicing the extinguishers due for inspection and checking equipment throughout the different operational areas.

This included equipment located within reception and offices, the crane shop, welding shop, maintenance areas, paint stores and plant, Earthmovers, oil storage, the test centre, stores and other areas across the site.

Where used equipment was identified within the stores spares area, replacement extinguishers were installed as part of the works.

Servicing and Replacement Equipment

205 fire extinguishers were serviced as part of the programme.

Planned Servicing Completed Across the Site

The scheduled servicing programme was completed across the extensive industrial site, with 205 fire extinguishers serviced and 46 replacement extinguishers installed.

Equipment across offices, workshops, production areas, stores and specialist facilities was covered as part of the programme, providing the client with an updated picture of its extinguisher provision and addressing the used equipment identified during the works.
